Hill Farm Swim Club
Built in 1960, the facility had served members well but time had come to replace the pool and provide full accessibility. The charge of the project was to develop a master plan which preserved the best features of the facility which fit the neighborhood environment, a family setting and provided for both recreational and competitive swimming.
The first client was first presented with six master plan alternatives for the pool, drop-off and parking design elements while the second was six schemes for the pool house renovation and expansion. This multi-scheme approach allowed the entire design team (owner, contractor, engineer and architect) to quickly arrive at a consensus for a single scheme.
The final design provided for an eight-lane, twenty-five meter pool, a modernized and accessible pool house, a safer parking lot with ample bicycle parking and an drop-off area.
