Hill Farm Swim Club
Built in 1960, the facility had served members well but time had come to replace the pool and provide full accessibility. The charge of the project was to develop a master plan which preserved the best features of the facility which fit the neighborhood environment, a family setting and provided dually for recreation and competition swimming.
The first client review was six master plan alternatives were presented for pool, drop-off and parking designs while the second was six schemes for the pool house renovation and expansion. This multi-scheme approach allowed the entire design team (owner, contractor, engineer and architect to quickly come to consensus on a single scheme.
The final design provided for an eight-lane, twenty-five meter pool, a modernized and accessible pool house, a safer parking lot with ample bicycle parking and an drop-off area.
